Hello,i installed an ICX 7150 48P, and soon as he booted, there is a “panic fan noise, and never stopped.sh ver -> 08.07.70bT211i only have the choice to use the “chassis fanless mode” commande line to stopped the noise.it’s weird ! and the device is quite warm, below the warning limit of course, but warm.and if fan are unable, the noise is too uncomfortable for users.is there a fix ? is this an firmware issue ?any idea will help, thanks,

BROCADE CAMPUS FEATURE EXPLAINER SERIES:
Posted on 16 Oct, 2018, in Uncategorized
We have a pair of (Brocade) ICX 7750s working as our core routers (we are using MCT, BGP, OSPF, VRRPe). We are currently running firmware version 08.0.30h. We noticed that according to the support site, 08.0.30r is the recommended firmware version although 08.0.30sa is out and 08.0.80b says it supports this model. Is there a reason the recommended version is 30r? Is there any reason not to upgrade to 80b? We think we might be affected by DEFECT000567305 which is fixed in 60a, so would it be better to just move to that version?Separately, is there a reason the Release Notes for 08.0.40 are only available to Pro Support users?

If you are updating to 08.0.80ca, please note that there is no bootloader included. I’m pretty sure if you try to boot with the old pre 08.08 bootloader (10.1.11?) on the new code, it will not boot. I’ve had no issues on configurations running 08.0.80 and 08.0.80b, but you definitely need a new bootloader. Because of this omission, I’ve decided to stick with the previous releases of 08.0.80 in case anything else slipped thru QA!

Hello guys, First of all, i would appreciate any workaround that anyone could give me. I have a large Switch network for a LAN of a univerisity campus here. This network is mixed with switchs HP for the distribution layer and ICX7150 for the access layer, that provides ethernet connection for several Ruckus Access point. Since day one, we introduce the ICX switchs to the network and configure the APs we have seen that there is an issue regarding the randomly disconnection of the APs, at first, we thought would be the AP configuration or the SZ100 controller. Eventually we discover that the issue could be some sort of problem with the switches, we tried to look up for any kind of trouble and we discovered that maybe could be a RSTP or STP error or phenomenon that could led to randomly switching on and off the ethernet ports, provoking that the APs disconect form the network and get a poorly wifi experiance. We suspect that this could be, and connect the APs directly to the HP distribution switches, and now the building where they are, is steady as should be. But it could be certanily another thing. What do you think guys?thanks a lot!

Hi,I have been configuring our ICX 7150 switch as the DHCP Server to our vSZ using option 43 and option 60. This works perfect for our Ruckus APs as they can now automatically register to the vSZ once we plug them into the ICX switch. However the issue I am having is that it does not work the same for any Ruckus ICX switches I want to add into the same vSZ. When I plug another ICX switch into the main DHCP server ICX switch, it just doesn’t seem to get a lease and connect to the vSZ.When creating the DHCP pool and adding the vendor-class ascii “Ruckus CPE” command, it states it is for the Ruckus APs in the guides I have read. Does anyone know if there is a different Vendor Class ID for Ruckus ICX switches?Things to note:vSZ firmware is on 5.0.0.0.675 – this is gives me the Switches menu on the left nav bar in my vSZFactory reset Ruckus ICX firmware is on 8.0.80
